International Urban Design Workshop in Shanghai |
SoA Students Win First and Third Places in International Urban Design Workshop in Shanghai
School of Architecture students Kimisha Sellers, Vershae Crawley, and Clark Titcomb participated in an International Urban Design Workshop in Shanghai from August 24 to September 4. This workshop was organized by the College of Architecture and Urban Planning at Tongji University and involved 45 architecture students from several different countries. The students worked in groups on an urban design project aiming to rehabilitate a historical village in Shanghai's outskirts with 2,800 migrant workers.
Of the nine final submissions, the project by the team including Kimisha Sellers won the Gold Award, and Clark Titcomb's team was named the third place.
Kimisha, Clark, and Vershae's projects will be displayed in the 2009 China Program exhibition in the SoA Gallery from September 23 to October 14. They will also give a public presentation of their work in the Gallery at 5:30pm on September 30.
