BASIC INFORMATION
The Architectural Resources Center (ARC), located on the second floor of The School of Architecture, Storrs Building. The primary focus of the ARC collection is 20th & 21st century design, architects, and the built environment. The ARC collection includes: books, audio visuals, periodicals, Fifth Year and Graduate Thesis documents, materials, manufacturer catalogues, drawings & plans. AUDIO VISUAL EQUIPMENT
Digital cameras, digital video cameras, carts with IMac computers and projectors, TV/VCR's, overhead projector, slide trays, slide projectors, laser pointers, lights, black backdrop cloths, and tripods are available at the ARC circulation desk.
Checkout to SoA students and faculty is 24 hours. Fines - 50 cents per hour.



CIRCULATION POLICIES

  • The ARC operates under the policies of Atkins Library.
  • Books
    • Faculty/Staff/PhD 120 days
    • Masters 60 days
    • Undergraduate/all other borrowers 21 days
  • Equipment - 24 hours
  • Periodicals are non-circulating
  • Videos - 7 days
  • Recalls - All library materials are subject to recall if requested by another borrower. See Recall Policy for further fines and information.
  • Renewals - All borrowers may renew general collection items two times before returning the material to the library.

Avery is the index to more than 1,000 Architectural journals. Some entries link to full text.

FACULTY SERVICES AND LIAISON PROGRAM

The Library's Liaison Program promotes communication between Atkins Library and academic colleges and departments. The Library Liaison to the SoA is Alison Bradley (704-687-6670). The SoA faculty contact is Tom Gentry.

Reserves

Course Reserves are materials set aside by faculty for the exclusive use of their students. Access to course reserves is limited to University faculty, staff, and students. Electronic Reserves are accessible via the Web.

Proxy Cards

A Faculty Proxy Card allows an assistant of a Faculty member to check out materials and place Interlibrary Loan requests in the name of the Faculty member.
